Celestra Health Supports Cross-Canada Ride for MS Research

At Celestra Health Systems, we believe in empowering patients and championing innovation, and few people embody both more than Dominic Shadbolt.

The 56-year-old cyclist, who was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis (MS) over 30 years ago, is currently riding an 8,000-kilometre solo journey across Canada to raise $1 million for MS research. Having started in Halifax on May 1, Dominic is making his way to the Pacific coast by summer’s end - unsupported and operating on a shoestring budget, and fuelled by determination.

Celestra Health is proud to support Dominic’s extraordinary campaign, donating US$5,000 to his #RideCanada4MS initiative, but our connection with Dominic runs deeper. As one of the earliest testers of our AI-powered gait analysis platform, Dominic has played a key role in shaping how we design and build tools that help patients with neurological conditions live better, more informed lives.

“Dominic’s journey across Canada, cycling by himself with no support, rain or shine, and staying in campgrounds along the way is nothing short of courageous,” said Bruce Ford, CEO of Celestra Health. “We were all-in as soon as we heard about it.”

Dominic’s ride is not just a fundraiser. It’s a powerful reminder that with the right support and technology, patients can be partners in their own care, and even cycle across an entire continent.
